In January of 2017, Sharon Vesely became The Place’s Executive Director. With a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education from SUNY Cobleskill, Sharon has extensive experience with the New York State Office of Children and Family Services, the Connecticut Department of Public Health and the National Association for the Education of Young Children. She is adept at ensuring regulation and accreditation compliance, and most recently, as an Educator with LEAF, Inc., she facilitated evidence-based curriculum to school aged students in Otsego County. Sharon holds certifications in First Aid, CPR and Medication Administration Training. She is a certified facilitator of Why Try, Girls
Circle and Boys Council.
Breanne Heath joined The Place’s staff in the summer of 2017. Currently, Breanne coordinates our Teen Program, Chenango Youth Philanthropy Council and Summer Youth Employment Program. Breanne is a facilitator of Parent Project and Loving Solutions. Breanne has a degree from SUNY Brockport. She holds CPR and First Aid certification and is a certified facilitator of Parent Project, Why Try and Boys Council curriculums. During her career, Breanne has overseen youth sports programs, before and after school programs, special events and summer camps for the Clarkson Recreation Center. Additionally, she has been the afterschool director and managed summer camps for the Norwich YMCA.
Sarah Freedman joined The Place as the Kids Program Coordinator in August 2019. She holds a bachelor’s degree from SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry, and a background of working with youth in both educational and recreational atmospheres. Her experiences include residential summer camps, educational programs focusing on experiential hands on learning, developing and running a Certified Summer Camp with the Department of Health, and a coach to an Odyssey of the Minds team. Sarah also possesses a current CPR and first aid certification.
Elizabeth Hathaway began working at The Place in January of 2018 with the KIDS Program, and served on the KIDS Summer program staff that same year. At the end of the summer, she was promoted to Group Leader of the KIDS Program. She has a degree in Early Childhood Education from SUNY Morrisville, as well as her CPR and first aid certification.
