In January of 2017, Sharon Vesely became The Place’s Executive Director. With a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education from SUNY Cobleskill, Sharon has extensive experience with the New York State Office of Children and Family Services, the Connecticut Department of Public Health and the National Association for the Education of Young Children. She is adept at ensuring regulation and accreditation compliance, and most recently, as an Educator with LEAF, Inc., she facilitated evidence-based, prevention curriculum to school aged students in Otsego County. Sharon holds certifications in First Aid, CPR and Medication Administration Training. She is a certified facilitator of Why Try, Girls
Circle and Boys Council.

During her career, Breanne has overseen youth sports programs, before and after school programs, special events and summer camps for the Clarkson Recreation Center. Additionally, she has been the afterschool director and managed summer camps for the Norwich YMCA.

Julie Dealing joined The Place as the Teen Program Coordinator in the Summer of 2022. Julie has a wide variety of lived and professional experience working with young people. She is a statewide speaker and is a facilitator for Youth Mental Health First Aid and Nurturing Parenting Classes as well as holds a Youth Peer Advocate Credential.

She is a statewide speaker and is a facilitator for Youth Mental Health First Aid and Nurturing Parenting Classes as well as holds a Youth Peer Advocate Credential. Julie has worked previously in group homes, residential facilities, and advocacy agencies working closely with the Office of Mental Health, the Office of Children and Family Services, as well as, served on county grant boards. On her off time, she has two small children and enjoys being outside, making art and playing music.
